Black is not normally a colour that comes to mind when you think of a Fi-Glass Fireball.  However black is the colour that Pavlos Van Aalst, who runs Golden Homes South Island, chose for his custom-built Fireball. There are obvious synergies with the Golden Homes brand and the result is a very sleek boat that turns heads.

Fi-Glass Managing Director Griff Simpson says that his friend Pavlos was looking to purchase his first family boat and approached him with a list of requirements. “Pavlos was looking for a boat for his family and friends to use at their holiday home at Lake Dunstan,” says Griff. “The boat needed to be big enough to take three or four mates out fishing but versatile so that Pavlos could teach his kids to water-ski. He was also looking for a boat that was easy to handle so that he and his partner could both feel confident driving it and tying it up at the dock.” Griff says that the Fireball ticked all the boxes and has proved perfectly suited to the family’s needs.

In addition to the striking black exterior, the custom-built Fireball has been fitted with all of the factory options including a canopy, hydraulic steering, twin back to back seats in the cockpit, and twin rear-mounted seats for passengers, a Bluetooth stereo system, cockpit lights for night fishing, navigation lights and a ski-pole. The boat is also fitted with the latest 75hp Mercury four-stroke Tigershark engine, giving it a top speed of around 80 kilometres per hour.

Griff says that Pavlos is delighted that he has been able to attain a custom-built boat with all the upgrades without a huge price-tag. This sits well with Griff as he believes that boating should be within the reach of the average New Zealander and is committed to maintaining the Fireball’s pricing and reputation as the perfect entry level boat for Kiwi families.
